On Tuesday 4th December, we held our first ever “Rider Bistro”. It took place at Guzman Y Gomez, Tanjong Pagar Centre in SGCC. Guzman Y Gomez serves incredible Mexican food such as burritos, nachos, tacos, quesadillas and other specialty items. This initiative between restaurant staff and Deliveroo riders allowed them to spend valuable time together talking about challenges they each face daily, be it in the kitchen or while making deliveries.
Riders are keen to share experiences they had to restaurant staff, although time passes really quickly as the Rider Bistro took place in peak hours where office worker flocks to grab quick lunch. Restaurant staff showed Deliveroo riders what it takes to make incredible food for customers, such as preparation, serving or even cashiering. Riders were able to experience this first hand and also understand that sometimes things don’t run perfectly!
Both sides play a huge role in delivering food and this initiative was all about bringing our riders and restaurants together, and opening up communication between the two about the unique challenges that each half faces.
